SATURDAY 27 MARCH HOME
The wedding day! All went very well. My son was extremely nervous. The bride was calm and organized and looked lovely. Both the service and reception were at the Tatra, up in Olinda.
It was a grey day – a little on the cool side, but great for photos. The rain held off until the reception had started and then it was steady all night. It was a most enjoyable occasion.

Scrubbed up better than in travel mode!
After the reception ended, about 6pm, we took a sister of John’s and her husband, and John’s daughter R and her friend, back home, where we had a light supper – hot cross buns and crumpets. The bride and groom spent the night at a city hotel, before flying off to the USA for their honeymoon.
After all had gone, John and I stayed in the house to sleep. Although our bedroom is quite crowded with some of our stored gear, we were able to fit in.
It feels really strange not to be sleeping in the van! But we have the animals around us again, which is lovely.
